DAIC : New ECG System Eliminated Wire Leads to Simplify Standard 12-Lead ECG
QT Medical recently announced the launch of Xpress ECG service
The world’s first 12-lead ECG home test, to help reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by bringing ECG tests to patients’ homes. The 12-lead ECG (EKG) with PCA 500 makes it available for use by both healthcare professionals and patients.
In response to the surge of needs in the COVID-19 pandemic, the company offers Xpress ECG service, which makes ECG tests accessible and affordable, while decreasing the risk of exposure to potential infections. The physicians can now simply order Xpress ECG tests online and the ECG kits will be shipped to the patients in 1 to 3 business days.
The ECG tests are performed using PCA 500, a complete 12-lead ECG platform that includes a super-compact recorder, prepositioned electrode strip, mobile app, HIPAA-compliant cloud and preliminary interpretation.
“This new exclusive service offers patients the ability to monitor their own heart health, allows healthcare providers to continue providing quality of care while maximizing revenue, and minimizing cost and risks for the healthcare system. Xpress ECG enables millions of patients with heart diseases to manage their health from the comfort of their homes.”
With the new CPT codes (e.g. 99457), an ECG test done by patients at home can be reimbursed 3 times higher than an ECG test done in the doctor’s office. When the doctor orders an Xpress ECG test, a kit including a PCA 500 recorder, an electrode strip, and a postage-paid return envelope will be shipped to the patients. QT Medical had previously conducted a clinical trial, which showed minimal or no training is needed to use PCA 500. All ECGs are automatically transmitted to the cloud, and a preliminary computer interpretation is instantly available. Through the cloud, physicians can review the results from anywhere to make informed decisions.
Unlike dozens of single lead ECG devices on the market, PCA 500 is hospital grade 12-lead ECG, which is medical standard for diagnosing a wide variety of heart diseases such as heart attacks, long QT syndrome, myocarditis, adverse effects of medications, cardiomyopathy, etc. Using Xpress ECG, healthcare providers can minimize the risk of infection by not sending patients to labs or hospitals for ECG tests. Telehealth patients who need an ECG test will be able to get a full 12-lead ECG without leaving their homes.
Xpress ECG is a medical standard 12-lead ECG test, using PCA 500, ordered by healthcare providers. Patients should consult their physicians to decide if PCA 500 is right for them.
